In 1993, Dr. Vos earned her doctorate from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, after a seven-year study researching high-performance learning methods based on the neurosciences and best practices from around the world. Shortly thereafter, she co-founded the National Institute for Teaching Excellence with Dr. John Grassi at Cambridge College in Boston, Massachusetts. Later, she became the senior professor of education in the master’s degree program at Cambridge College in Ontario, California, where she taught teachers of at-risk students.

In 1994, Dr. Vos co-authored the book The Learning Revolution, which became a literary sensation internationally. A few years later, both her and her co-author, Gordon Dryden, wrote and published the follow-up book, Unlimited: The New Learning Revolution and the Seven Keys to Unlock It.
